Keith were an Auckland band who
came to the attention of Failsafe through mutual
friends in the Lils who noticed their Pixies-style
pop.
The band featured:
Eden Smith - Guitar and Vocals
Matthew Cornelius - Bass
Simon Cornelius - Drums
Smith had been around in the Auckland music scene a while although Keith was
the first time his music had come to the attention of the label.
The band recorded 3 songs with Failsafe, in Auckland's Lab studios to coincide
with a trip to the city by Rob Mayes who produced and co-engineered the sessions.
The idea was to quickly record 3 songs to demo-plus standard for a minimal budget.
Eight hours later "Extra Care", "500", and "Forever
Now" were sitting on a DAT master tape.
"Extra Care" appears on the Good Things compilation and the other 2 appear on the band's Extra Care EP through Failsafe.
No other recordings eventuated after this release. The band did self release
some demos that came out prior to the Extra Care EP.
