Heartland
was the first incarnation of the three piece line-up
which would later become Dolphin. The band
featured Rob Mayes on Bass and Guitar (Throw, Springloader,
Delphy, AD), Stephen Birss on Drums (Whiteboys, Throw,
Cinematic), and Kevin Stokes on Guitar and Vocals (Whiteboys,
Delphy). The band played 3 gigs in total all at the
Zetland Tavern. This track was taken from a live recording
played with Sneaky Feelings.
The band spend most of their time writing and rehearsing
dark and melodic pop, and like many a band parted company
over musical differences (a practice room fight over a
song), only to reform a year and a bit later as Dolphin.
"Snow" is
the only track released by the band although there was
a reasonably good live recording made of their set of well-crafted
pop songs. none of these songs were included in future
line ups.
